I visited London for the first time in early 2011, at the age of 19 after doing a three month stint in Ecuador and then really dipping my toes in the world of travel by visiting Peru, Spain, Italy & Ireland. I remember it feeling very similar to home after travelling around mostly non-english speaking countries for the best part of 4.5 months. Even after visiting multiple times over the next 7 years, I never really imagined it being a place I would want to live, and yet here I am. I left Australia on my tier 5 visa one year & 8 months ago, after a tumultuous journey in deciding to move. It was a long time coming, as someone who loves travel, and as of last year had visited 35 countries. I had always wanted to live overseas, but always found a reason to avoid the decision - family, jobs, money, relationships, fear.
